A Pittsburgh native, she earned a Bachelor of Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, where her studies in Architecture and Environmental Studies sharpened her attention to detail—an invaluable skill in crafting natural, functional smiles.
Inspired by her mother, Dr. Kathryn Duncan Friedman, a pioneer in the dental field, Dr. Mangini returned home to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2011. During dental school, she met her husband and future collaborator, Dr. Nicholas Mangini, forming a professional partnership that continues to transform smiles across Pittsburgh.
Dr. Mangini completed a rigorous three-year Prosthodontics residency at the University of Pittsburgh, gaining specialized expertise in full-mouth restorations, dental implants, and complex rehabilitations. Her passion for education led her to teach pre-doctoral students during her residency and later serve as a Clinical Associate Professor at Pitt Dental School. Today, she leads the team at Atlas Dental Specialists, combining advanced technology with a patient-centered approach to deliver top-tier dental care.
Beyond dentistry, Dr. Mangini enjoys embracing creativity and the outdoors. A former architecture student, she loves designing and remodeling homes in her spare time. She is also an avid rower, hiker, and cyclist, finding balance between her personal and professional passions.
