Revolutionize Your Smile with All-On-X Permanent Teeth: Stunning Photos for Adobe Stock

If you’re facing extensive tooth loss like an estimated 40 million other Americans, the prospect of full-mouth restoration can feel overwhelming. All-on-x treatment offers a transformative solution that replaces an entire arch of teeth with just a few strategically placed implants, providing a permanent, natural-looking smile in a remarkably efficient process. This advanced approach eliminates the discomfort and inconvenience of traditional dentures while restoring full function to your smile.

At Atlas Dental Specialists, we’ve helped countless Pittsburgh patients regain their confidence through dental implants and full-arch restoration. As trained prosthodontists, Drs. Nicholas and Mara Mangini combine advanced technologies, such as CAD/CAM technology, 3D printing, and in-office milling, with personalized care to make your treatment as comfortable and efficient as possible.

6 Steps of the All-on-X Process

Our trusted team works closely with you from the beginning of your smile transformation journey, helping you understand each phase of treatment so you can prepare for what lies ahead and set realistic expectations. The all-on-x process unfolds over a few months, with each step building toward your final, beautiful result.

Initial Consultation and Treatment Planning

Your treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your oral health. We’ll take detailed 3D scans and digital images to assess your jawbone density, remaining teeth, and overall oral structure. During this visit, we’ll discuss your goals, review your medical history, and create a customized treatment plan. This consultation allows us to determine the optimal number and placement of implants needed for your specific situation, whether it’s four, five, or six implants per arch.

Preparatory Procedures

If you still have teeth that need extraction, we’ll coordinate the procedure with your implant placement. Some patients may require bone grafting if the jawbone density is insufficient; however, the angled placement technique used in all-on-x treatment often eliminates this need. We’ll also take impressions and measurements to fabricate your custom prosthetic, ensuring it fits perfectly and matches your facial structure and aesthetic preferences.

Implant Placement Surgery

On implant placement surgery day, we’ll place titanium implants at strategic angles in your jawbone to maximize support and stability. The all-on-x technique typically uses four to six implants per arch, positioned to take advantage of the densest bone areas. We perform this procedure under appropriate sedation to keep you comfortable the entire time.

Immediate Prosthetic Placement

One of the most appealing aspects of all-on-x treatment is the ability to leave our office with a brand-new smile. Immediately after implant placement, we can often attach a temporary prosthetic that restores your smile right away. This temporary set allows you to eat soft foods and speak normally while your implants integrate with your jawbone. Having immediate functionality means you can return to your daily life without the embarrassment or inconvenience of being without teeth.

Healing and Integration Period

Over the next few months, your implants will undergo osseointegration, a process in which they fuse with your jawbone. During this time, you’ll wear your temporary prosthetic and attend regular follow-up appointments, allowing us to monitor your healing progress. We’ll provide detailed instructions on caring for your temporary teeth and maintaining proper oral hygiene around your implants.

Final Prosthetic Placement

Once osseointegration is complete, typically after three to six months, we’ll replace your temporary prosthetic with your permanent restoration. We fabricate most crowns and prosthetics right here in our office using advanced CAD/CAM technology, ensuring a precise fit and exceptional aesthetics. We design your final prosthetic to be durable, natural-looking, and perfectly matched to your facial features and preferences.

What Makes All-on-X Different Than Other Tooth Replacement Options?

Unlike traditional dentures that rest on your gums and can slip or cause discomfort, all-on-x prosthetics are securely anchored to your implants. This eliminates the need for adhesives, prevents slippage during eating or speaking, and helps preserve your jawbone by providing the necessary stimulation. The all-on-x approach also differs from individual implant replacement by requiring fewer implants and offering a more efficient treatment timeline, making it an excellent option for comprehensive restoration without extended treatment periods.

Proper care of your all-on-x restoration involves regular brushing, flossing with specialized tools, and routine professional cleanings. While your prosthetic can’t decay like natural teeth, maintaining excellent oral hygiene protects your gum tissue and implants. Many patients find caring for their all-on-x restoration simpler than managing traditional dentures or extensive bridgework. Our team will provide thorough instructions on maintaining your prosthodontic work for long-term success.
